Invisalign Clear Braces for Crooked Teeth
Invisalign is the brand name of plastic aligners that are clear in appearance. These sets of aligners are custom-made for individual patients. Their “invisible” aesthetic makes them a more preferred orthodontic treatment.
At Grand Dental we refer to the same types of Invisalign treatment as clear aligners, where you can get straighter teeth without the look of traditional metal braces. Clear aligners solve this problem while simultaneously remaining discreet.
Invisalign clear aligners are the most popular alternative to traditional metal braces. They are a series of clear plastic removable orthodontic aligners that move your teeth. The custom set of clear aligners are virtually invisible and work effectively to help you get straighter teeth.
At your consultation, Dr. Max will discuss your clear aligners treatment plan for your new smile. Every treatment is custom made for each patient, from your very first aligner to the last. The sets of clear aligners are carefully created to ensure that the correct amount of pressure is applied to each tooth. At Grand Dental, we use a unique orthodontist software to detail your treatment plan to ensure that every tooth moves in the right order.
Clear aligners are made of a transparent plastic material that is:
- Able to move teeth quickly
- Provides controlled movements
- Able to straighten teeth predictably
Depending on the individual case, you may be required to have additional attachments on your teeth to make sure your treatment is effective. They are small tooth-colored shapes that are adhered to specific teeth before or during your treatment. They act as points where the aligner will apply more pressure to, allowing seamless movement of teeth. Their purpose is to make complex movements possible without braces.
To simulate your progression, Dr. Max uses a scanner to create 3D models of your teeth. This approach is more effective in creating clear aligners than making physical impressions. Dr. Max will then advise whether Invisalign treatment or clear aligner treatment is right for you.
Clear aligners allow you to:
- Keep eating whatever you want
- Keep doing any sports or other activities
- Have fewer dentist visits as there are no wires or brackets that can break
- Not worry so much about people noticing you’re straightening your teeth
To be most effective, you’ll have to wear your clear aligners for 20-22 hours a day. You’ll only wear each aligner for one to two weeks, and progress check-ups usually only occur every six to eight weeks.

How long will the treatment take?
Clear aligners treatment range anywhere between 3 to 18 months, depending on the complexity of your problem.
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign clear aligners treatment uses specialised computer software to create 3D images of your teeth. This approach allows you to see what your smile will look like before your treatment even starts.
After this, a series of custom clear aligners are produced. They are clear, removable, and work to straighten your teeth gently. Their removability means that you can still eat and drink your favorite foods, and you’ll be able to brush and floss like normal.
Is Invisalign painful?
Most patients experience a feeling of pressure for a few days at the start of wearing each new aligner. However, this feeling of discomfort is only temporary. The pressure is an indication that the aligners are working, moving your teeth to the desired position. The feeling generally disappears after a couple of days of wearing your new aligner.
Why do people choose Invisalign or clear aligners?
The convenience, look, and gentleness of clear aligners have made it a preferred choice for millions of people worldwide. The ability to live your normal lifestyle while straightening your teeth, comfort, removability and virtually invisible design are significant advantages.
